The Holden Arboretum Dear Parents, Your child is participating in a unique three year project in conjunction with his/her school and The Holden Arboretum. The project, called Growing Students and Science, will follow your child and his/her class for three years starting in third grade until the completion of fifth grade. Each year your child will participate in two field trips to The Holden Arboretum and one classroom visit by Holden staff. All programs will connect with science concepts he/she is learning in school. By providing natural science programming, both in the classroom and outdoors at Holden, we hope to positively impact your child’s interest and proficiency in the sciences. To ensure your child actively participates in the program please make sure they are properly dressed for all field trips. Long pants, old tennis shoes, sweatshirt and/or jacket and a raincoat are encouraged for the fall field trips. Your child’s teacher will inform you of the dates he or she is scheduled to visit Holden I am pleased that your child will be participating in this unique opportunity. Be sure to check out the Growing Students and Science Website, www.growwithholden.org for a more information, schedule and updates. If you have any questions concerning this program please feel free to contact you child’s teacher or me at 1-440-602-3852. Sincerely,
